Hello!

My name is Vidya Ganesh and I am from Bangalore, India. I am currently pursuing Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (2022-24) at Khoury College of Computer Sciences, Northeastern University. I obtained my undergraduate degree at Vellore Institute of Technology, India in Electronics and Communications Engineering. I spent most of my student life in collaborative research and projects, heading juniors in self-teaching and guided projects, and volunteering activities .Creativity, drive and leadership are my greatest strengths. With a firm foundation laid by my undergraduate studies, I am more inclined to further develop proficient expertise that would make a difference through innovative engineering. I think working on cutting edge technology is awesome but not overwhelming if it doesn't improve our society and hence my goal is to use AI in the field of education to make learning meaningful for everyone.

VOLUNTEERING

VITeach 2019-2021

VITeach a student-run social outreach club. I loved the idea of teaching kids of the nearby school on a weekly basis. I learned to communicate lessons as captivating stories and worked on a participatory real-time digital solution using voice for kids with disabilities. The activities I headed made a positive impact on 3 schools and 400 lives directly and I observed disabled kids grasp concepts as quickly as others.

TechnoVIT 2019

As part of the design team we designed certificates, brochures, banners, posters for various events that took place under the banner of TechnoVIT 2019. We used Adobe photoshop and Illustrator for most of the designs. Renaissance 2019

Renaissance was an initiative to form a community of like-minded people in VIT Chennai in order to encourage and support start-ups. The focus of our efforts was aimed at providing a platform for the growing entrepreneurial mindset within students. We established an ecosystem by which the students, as well as the entrepreneurs, benefited, a wonderful networking opportunity for the young aspiring minds to interact with the experienced hands of the industry.

COGNIZANT ENVISION

ENVISION 2019 was hosted by NFB-National Federation of the Blind of India and COGNIZANT.The event was exclusively planned for the visually challenged students by NFB and was supported by Cognizant. As part of Viteach's educational campings we educated ADW Middle school students on communicative English and life skills. And trained class 6th and 7th std students for 4 months on a weekly basis.

Board Members 2020, VIT Chapter

Served as the Treasurer and Board member of the IEEE Computer Society VIT Chapter. During this period we also won the outstanding chapter award from IEEE.
